Certainly the best I have tried so far. I am still amazed at hard it is to make me happy when it comes to reverb. I'll use halls and plates for some things, but nothing like a spring tank!
To all:
What other GSi plugins do you use most often?

I only have the Watkat, and it's pretty awesome. Noisy, yes and it gets worse during a long mix if you don't turn it off and on again ... but it sounds great.

This!! You can then purchase the Fender Spring Reverb add on for like 5 bucks and you're done.

Well I tried a bunch
Overall, I am still going to continue to use the Digiverb Pedal. It is the most accurate simulator of a the fender spring reverb. I suppose that is the sound I like of all the possible spring sounds these plugins give. The only one from the fore-mentioned plugins I haven't tried yet is Amplitude's. Someone mentioned it was free. I have yet to find it free or in vst form.. any assistance on this?

You must have missed it...

I recommend you try this before buying the pedal.

Thanks... I will try it out.. I was on that page, just looked to me like I had to buy.
-- I own the pedal already for my guitar rig. I appreciate the concern tho!

Great older Thread and just saved me some $$$ !!
Spring Reverb and Reflektor in Guitar Rig are a start.
Amplitube Custom Shop being downloaded now.
Necklace is interesting as well, but will try these others first!

Of the ones I have tried (I have an amplitube fender model as well), I think the podfarm spring reverb sounds the closest. Although all of them seem to get buried in the dsp muck, where on a real fender twin, going past 2 on the dial is starting to get heavy with the reverb (at least this is the case on old siverface twins).

Gonna be tough to add Podfarm at this point
Some other advice suggested Softube Spring Reverb followed by TSAR-1 ... 'take off rough edges'. I only have TSAR-1-1R, but maybe could work for ~$37. (Softube Spring Reverb).
Trying Demo now, but too inexperienced to sort serious differences with GuitarRig5/Spring Reverb & Reflektor choices.
Also wondering about Sknote Necklace for $20.

I wouldn't pay much for a software spring reverb at this point. They just aren't very good, if what you want is an authentic spring sound. By the time one of the emulations is in a mix, you might as well just use a regular reverb, because any 'spring' details in the sound are likely going to get buried. It's kind of the same deal with amp sims. One might say 'Fender' and the other 'Marshall', but you might get a better 'Marshall' sound from the 'Fender'.

I got the Softube spring reverb on sale, and I think it sounds pretty authentic. Lots of squishy springiness, and it sounds great between an amp sim and cab sim.

Yeah .... my gut tends to get a bit uncomfortable when big harangues come up over these subtleties. Standalone is iffy enough, but in a mix ???
I think you're spot-on .....
Greg @ OTS just linked me to a file of IRs he uses with his EV Guitars. There are a few different Spring files so loaded them in ReaVerb and LiquidSonics ReverberateLE. These plus GR5 are surely plenty for me at this point.
Thanks for keeping me sober

I've never found IR's to capture springs well at all.

I don't see how convolution could do a spring reverb without a huge window, which wouldn't be useful for realtime use, and even then, some sort of round-robin scheme for IR's would probably be needed to make it sound realistic.

In my search for a good Spring Reverb plugin, I ended up just buying a Furman RV-1. Sometimes you just need the real thing.

sadly we dont see many of those in the UK.
Wish I had bought one when I lived in the US but who knew?
The only thing I dont like about my home built Deluxe wide panel is "no reverb" - same goes for my H&K Statesman - reverb on that is pretty "digital " sounding even if it is an accutronics inside.
(somehow I doubt that!)

Could be I'm misinterpreting those Impulse names, and
I left out this note with the files ... "These are all sampled from real guitar reverb pedals and modules. They're pretty long impulses in general, but most convolution reverb plugins have the ability to change the length of the impulse."
Anyway, just babbling as this is a very new experience.

I don't think you'd get a spring reverb pedal. Every time you stomped it on it would sound like the sky was falling!

Here is one of many kits I have looked at. I know someone who built this and it's very cool.

Strange, but cool, to see so many audio products today with 12AX7, 12AT7, etc. They were used widely in data amplifiers and many other test and calibration products during aerospace heydays in 1960's !!
Here we are over 50 years later and still going strong

I am over 50 and can say that 12ax7's have been with me the entire time! I have always owned at least 1 tube guitar amp at any given time.
