Default Switching to Manjaro from Mint; git/buildscript question

Hey smart folks!

After reading much praise for Manjaro lately, I'm experimenting with switching to it from Mint. Jack Winter's documentation sticky refers to Arch users being able to run a buildscript from the AUR, which sounds awfully convenient. Not being super experienced with Arch, I tried to git-clone it and "makepkg", but it doesn't see a PKGBUILD file. Please pardon my ignorance, but if anyone could tell me what I'm doing wrong, I would be very appreciative!

hi,
if all you want to do is installing reaper via the AUR (the collection of community maintained build scripts), all you need to do is start up the GUI version of pamac, go to the settings where you are going to find a AUR tab. enable using AUR there and the just run

pamac install reaper-bin

and you are set.

this way, reaper also receives automatic updates (you might need to enable this in the AUR settings tab in the pamac gui...)

Whoa, that's great, thanks! Way easier than I thought.

Did you change directory to the reaper-bin folder created by git clone, where the PKGBUILD is?

To install AUR packages without using AUR helpers like yay or Manjaro's pamac:
Code:
git clone 'https://aur.archlinux.org/reaper-bin.git'
cd reaper-bin
makepkg -si

Ah! That was, in fact, my dumb mistake. I had done a few git installations on an arch system last year but didn't remember the process fully.

Thanks so much y'all!
