Explode multichannel audio and midi to new mono item

Hi All

I have some stereo tracks I am trying to split into mono, as far as I understand I can achieve this by using the "Explode multichannel audio and midi to new mono item" function am I correct?

I have been trying this function but my newly created mono files are all offline? Also I check the newly created audios in my Audio Folder their size seem weird, the original stereo file is at 91.5MB, the newly created files much less than this.

This seem weird?
