Default Send (or Receive) a project exactly as it was made?

Hi, I've searched info all over on how to send and receive projects for ppl to work on in separate locations, and I received a project from a friend. Each track was sent alone, I made a project and pulled each downloaded file in as a track. It worked like I read it should. But... They used a midi drum track it appears, and not a metronome. The standard bpm is 120, and is such in my new project. But if I set mine to 107, the song bpm, it slows the recording down. Is there a way to send or insert an entire project, in which all the settings will remain?? I'd like that, but, I would also try To make a metronome line up with the existing track, if that's possible.... Thanks y'all

it sounds like you are saving and importing all the tracks separately into a blank project? why not save / use the actual project file .rpp

They're using reaper. No reason, aside from my lack of knowledge. I'll do some Google searches on how to import the project file, or, if it's like this because the other guy sent me individual tracks, I'll have him send me the .rpp file so the settings load in. It would be nice if I could record the drums and just send the project right back, if that's what this does then great! If I just should have brought them from the Google drive into reaper in a way that brings the whole project in, then I'll go back and try to do that. If you have a link, or if it's easy to explain, that would be appreciated.... But if not, I'll do some googling. Don't want to take up your time. Thanks for replying

cool, when you save the project ( or "save as") tick the boxes that say "create subdirectory..." and "copy all media..."
this will give you a folder which should contain your project and all the media needed for it, which you can then share with your associates

If you are both using reaper is should be fairly easy:
Both of you need to do this:

1- Open Project settings to the Media tab
2- on the first field there, Type in Audio Files
3- clk Save as default project settings and then OK

Next:

1- Make a folder somewhere called Reaper Projects

2- The first time you begin work on a project, don't just Save
...instead use Save project as
...navigate to the Reaper Projects folder [ made in #1 ]
...In the Save as dialog, give it a proper name
AND check the first two boxes at the bottom of the dialog
[that is very important]

3- After that you can just use Save as you work on the project.

OK now you get your project, all in its own folder.
You can make a zip of that and send it however you like

You might want to make the project name you use include the BPM
such as.... My Great Tune - BPM 123

Just to touch on your other question....the timebase setting in project settings is what governs whether the audio changes tempo with the project bpm.

If you set it to time instead of beats you should be able to change to 107 and have the audio line up to the grid and metronome.

Yeah I guess I needed to change the bpm before inserting the files. It acted like new track input since I made a project (w stock bpm @ 120) and inserted media files as tracks. Then changing the bpm affected things... So I made a new project and set it to 107 then imported the files. But now I'll use other methods of receiving files from the other person so should be g2g. But this was all super helpful info, I'm sure I'll need to figure things like this out on the fly if I plan to keep helping ppl record. Ty!
