OSCAR (osc-commander?)
Does anyone have any experience with this android app.
Made the mistake of purchasing it, didnt have time to test it right away and now cant get it to work properly and theres no refund option. This app is a more expensive app than others at £8. it was advertised on some blog talking about different apps with this being the best one. the link was to osc0commander on play store but i guess they changed the name.
There is very little documentation on how to set it up. there is a reaper skin and again NO documentation.
The best ive gotten is the meters on the app show signal sort of matching the tracks (theres a discrepancy in levels by a fair amount) but reaper doesnt seem to receive any osc commands so moving faders and buttons dont work.
Paid for this app because it jhought since its a paid app it would just work. How wrong. i dont mind having to spend a ton of time getting open source of free to work but when you pay good price there should be decent documentation.
The forums dont even exist anymore

really needs the price dropped or just taken of the playstore.
Shame as the reaper interface is really nice.

Might actually revisit it, since |I already bought it - has the dev added anything new or improved in the last year or so?

I've been using OSCAR for ages and I love it. Love the fact that the interface matches the Reaper layout, that it is 2-way - I get track names, vu meters and time clock info on my Android.
A bit worried though as it appears to have disappeared from the App store. I'd be really disappointed if something happened and I couldn't re-install it for any reason!

Well thats ME screwed then.... if I remember rightly the dev is not a native english speaker so may well live in a country where internettery is erratic. Fingers crossed that he comes back. I will dig through my email logs and see if I can find his email address.

Pretty damn obvious I would have thought. IF he happened to live in a tent in the middle of the Somalian desert, he logically is unlikely to be a native English speaker & equally, I wouldn`t find it THAT surprising if Internet connectivity in such an area would be subject to the whims of both nature and the available technology.
(No persons were hurt in the making of this absurdist rebuttal, although some feelings may be....)

I live in a tin house in Cambrian mountains ( ok not quite the Sahara) and my internet is 200mb - could have had 300 but thought that a bit greedy. ;-)
