Hoot! Love it chief! damn.. smokin' slide there in the beginning - great tone, intensity... WHAMMY!
is that you singing?? wonderful!
couple subjective nits:
a touch too much verb when the band comes in, sounds like it's mostly coming from the kit.. ?
Please turn up that awesome harmony at 1:24 (2:21). that NEEDS to be heard!!
Fantastic! Great vibe, mood. Well done!

Great groove, totally commanding and compulsive playing. I'd love to put a vocal on that.

Killer intro, but the build up still doesn't let you go afterwards. This insists on being played LOUD!

That was pretty awesome! Your a better mixer than me so be inclined not to pay attention to what I have to say but I Have to agree with mschuster and Sam on this. I would Pull that reverb down when the band comes in. You can also try automating the master volume to slowly* slope down a couple db's before everything else comes in. Sometimes* it's a handy trick.

Hi
Thanks a lot for your kind words.
About the guitar sound.I found this BIAS amp (Shit Kicker) that is just amazing.
It really makes you wanna play.
I just put up a new version with reduced room/reverb at the start and volume adjustments on the backing vocals.
I'm not sure about the lowering of the reverb. Myself I didn't hear that improvement.
What do you think?

Thanks, but compared to some of the guys here, I don't see myself as a good mixer.

"LOVE" the guitar tone !!!
Really good vibe about the whole song.
I didn't hear the first version but this version
still has a lot of room/hall type verb, i get where your
coming from with the verb, it gives it that live in the room
sound this type sound this track calls for.
Maybe you could experiment with the verb parameters, er's, room size,
length etc to see if you can keep the vibe without so much
obvious verb.
Really like this song though, top job
Cheers

If the vocal is right, the whole thing is right.
If the gtr is right, the whole thing is right.
If the reverb is wrong, the whole thing is wrong.
If your playing is wrong or right, the whole thing is.
Because the this piece is a whole.
As Oprah might say, "you go girl".

A good drum-sound/feel
Some breaks/variations in arrangement/mix could be a good thing.

About the reverb, I wanted that messy live kind of sound.
I was more unsure about the vocal reverb, but I got no remarks on that one, so now I'm sure
Thanks again for your comments.

I thought the noisey guitar intro was great, although a bit too long for my taste. Love the simple but catchy riff and the guitar nosies between the chords. Vocals sound really great, in fact I would say, perfect for this. The mix is pretty good, although it could be better. At least you have captured the energy of the song.
I think it's the snare drum that sounds a bit wrong to me. I'm not sure cause you quickly get used to it. It almost sounds like it's been recorded in another room, or perhaps that the snare is in this room and the band are further away.
I'm not sure about the hi hat pattern. It seems very repetative and a bit stiff. I can't say for sure without trying (and if you knew the struggle I've had with programming drums you'd realize the idea of me trying to give advice about is almost funny) but maybe a more relaxed hi hatpattern that goes 1 2 & 3 4. With a slightly more open hi hat.

I played a little with transient plugin on the snare that might be the reason.
I have a common reverb for the instruments even if the guitar has a lot of reverb itself.
And then the drums...
I know I should work harder with the programming, but I didn't expect the HiHats to be the problem though. I will look into that in my future projects.
The problem I know of is the fills, variation with the drums. It always sound weird.
Thanks for the input!

Gosh, didn't realize you released a couple versions of this song. Any particular reason why? I absolutely love the original! I really like the versions with Barry too - it's just a different vibe.
Your guitar tone is stellar Mikael. Some of the best I've heard in a long time! Still Bias?

I alway let my song be as soon as I uploaded them, but Barry wanted to sing to it and you don't say no to Barry
Anyway, Barrys vocals are really great, but I don't think it glue to the arrangement as good as I wanted. So here we are again.

Coming from you it really warm my heart
I use Kazrog Vocal30 and his Chordal IR on main guitar and Kazrog Blackverb amp and IR on the rythm guitar in the break and Kazrog Bassmensch with NadIR and some freeware IR's on the solo guitar.

Nice!
Hmmm... I listened to all three version and you got me into a bind. I like the intro of version 1, the music mix of version 2, and the slow lyrics of version 3.
I couldn't live with this conflit in my mind so I downloaded the version and imported them into Reaper.
I did of few things to see what would happen if the song was according to my taste. Here is what I got - note: I only rendered the first 1:30 min of the song - as this is just to provide an example/exercise:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=104...BU318JPxcRLyRq
If I had the tracks it would of been easier to mix something, so I had to do a bit of magic:
1. I cut the intro out of V1 and the ending of the song
2. I pasted the intro to the song ending
3. I added a very long reverb to stretch that small part out - "I can hold it" (musical pun)
4. I cut the first section of V3
5. I mixed the v3 section with the stretched intro
6. I added even more reverb to the stretched intro, rendered, reversed the take, added flanger, and mixed it into the end of the V2 section
7. I added stretchmarks to V1 to sync it to v3 - so I could slow down the tempo of V1 * lets call this track V1slow
8. I pasted V1slow to the V2 section - with the reversed part to link them together
Ohhhh yeah, I added a few bars of drumming before the second verse vocal kick in - anticipation effect
Rendered the first 1:30min.
So, this is what I was hearing in my inner ear's mind. A mix of your three versions!

Mikael and I sometimes agree to differ on arrangements! Mik's new version didn't resonate with me as I felt the vocal was aimed at the strident rock backing and having taken that away it was too raw. In view of that I would prefer to re-record the vocal less aggressively to match the acoustic version. However MDBOIS has thrown a serious spanner in the works. I really like what he's done, the intro from hard guitar to soft then hard again is brilliant. Love it.

I noticed some artifacts in the vocals (recorded too loud), but I suspect you would change the way of singing, so I kept the original
I don't find it aggressive, strong, but mot aggressive.
The song would loose a lot with softer vocals i believe.
