Default VST3 version works properly in WL Pro 9 - VST2 versions does not

I am testing a new plugin in Wavelab Pro 9 that was compiled in both VST2 and VST3 x64 (PC) formats from the same IPlug-framework project.

The VST3 version works perfectly but the VST2 version doesn't process the audio. The GUI is correct, the controls move, etc., but the plug doesn't affect the sound.

Now, I can dig in and find out why this particular VST2 isn't working but I am more concerned about the IPlug framework issue that may be causing this. I don't want to have multiple versions of the same plugin project if I can avoid it (this is the whole point of IPlug, right?).

Anyone else come across this and what did you find to fix it?

BTW - as in a previous post on another issue - this only seems to be a problem in WAVELAB - both versions work in other DAWs

No issues here in WL9, neither VST2 nor VST3. Just start with a simple project like IPlugEffect and check.

I don't recall the issue at the time I posted this but yes - it does work. My error somewhere.
