Default How to stop GUI elements from moving to mouse?

I have two meters in my plugin that are typical multi-frame bitmaps. I am currently drawing them using IKnobMultiControl with paramIdx set to -1. According to IControl.h, a paramIdx setting of -1 means not associated with a parameter. I took this to mean "display only".

However when I click and move the mouse over these these bitmaps when my plug is running they cycle through their frames just like a parameter-controlled bitmap would. So apparently I'm doing something wrong. How do make these bitmaps "display only" and ignore any mouse movements?

NEVERMIND - I solved it. ANSWER: use IBitmapControl (not IKnobMultiControl)
