Default Ugritone

Hi guys,

Unfortunately, Ugritone will be closing operations soon and having a closing sale. You can get their drum libraries for as little as $5.

Even though they will stop operation you still can grab a bargain for drums with Linux Native versions.

I recommend their Studio Drums, they work in almost all genres.

Sad to hear this about Ubritone. But thank you for the heads up. I appreciate when you post stuff like this. I may not have found out otherwise.

That's what we're all here for to share everything we can use in Reaper and Linux.

BTW don't know if you have looked into Tukan Studios plugins. There's a wealth of great tools there.

Aye I was quite sad about this yesterday when they sent out the mailer their drum plugin, sample packs and midi loop packs are really brilliant. So easy to get a boss drum part done that sits beautifully in a mix.

Snap up some of their offerings while you still can, they're dead good.

Edit; native Linux VST too by the way, although this isn't mentioned on their site anywhere.

Hi,

Bought and downloaded. In the zipfile there is linux version. Where does the drumsamples go? I have it for now on a external drive but getting alot of errors when I try to load a kit. A bit confusing where it should be?

Just place them in a folder in your home drive. Then open the plugin and let it know the path.

As per Mcgiver69's post. When you load a kit from within Reaper you'll get a whole load of popups that you have to click through but then it's game on.

Basically open the VST on a track -> load a kit -> press enter a bunch of times until all popups have cleared -> get stuck in.

They're pretty much all very good kits in my opinion.

Whas a bit confused when both the drums I bought the directories looked almost the same. The zip file had this folder KVLT Drums II on both Total Studio Drums and Tight Studio Drums. I worked it out.

Thanks all

Aye that's another thing haha. It's all a bit disjointed.

Once you suss it out and rename the sample folders and learn to tolerate closing the popups when switching kits then it's a brilliant plugin/sample library.

I think I saved one with simplified routing something like this;

Track 1 - Ugritone MIDI
Track 2 - kick
Track 3 - snare
Track 4 - hats
Track 5 - toms
Track 6 - overheads

If that works for you I'll add it here later when I get a chance to look in Reaper on my laptop

I am about halfway through fixing up a version with their (flawed) "megamix" routing (why oh why do they have all the cymbals routed to a single mono output?!), but if you still feel like sharing yours it might help others!

Groovy, here's a project template and track template attached for any Ugritone drums users reading this who want simplified multi-out for mixing.

The routing remains when you change drum kits and load different presets for full flexible percussion mayhem.

Here's my version; 16-track "megamix" routing, but i changed it up. I split up the cymbals a bit - crash1, china1, and splash are on one track, while crash2 & china2 are on another, plus a track for cowbells/FX, and then the OH, hell mic, trash, & room mics on their own tracks for a total of 16 tracks
