Default Developing a MIDI Controller

Hey guys,

I’m developing a new MIDI mixer controller that is mostly focused on DAW users. Although I am creating it primarily with Ableton in mind, it of course works with MIDI so with any software. I focus on quality and good and sturdy materials with the right knob feel.

The current specs:

8 channels + 1 master with each:
60mm faders for mixing
2 knobs for either sends or instruments (automatically in Ableton)
Color indicator LED (either setup in our app or automatically in Ableton)
14 bit resolution (where supported)
Plug & Play: USB Powered, no drivers required
Minimalistic design with wood (real German oak) and polished metal
Sturdy aluminium knobs
USB Powered
Programmable using a very user friendly app (Windows and Mac)
Portable: 320mm x 190mm x 50mm
RoHS compliant

I am still looking for feedback, suggestions, etc, so very much welcome your thoughts.

Thanks in advance!
Koen.

I would not use a controller that does not feature decent "feedback" functionality i.e. motr faders, rotaries with LED rings and buttons with LEDs.

There was a discussion in the CSI thread over here, that the faders need to provide more that 7 (i.e. 10) bit resolution to be decently usable for mixing.
