Default Computer immediately turns off when I stop recording

Really strange thing that has been happening. It's rare, but this is the 2nd day in a row that it's happened. I will be recording audio and as soon as I hit the space bar (stop recording), my computer immediately shuts off as if someone ripped the power cord out. Then it restarts. No clue why it's doing this. It's worth noting that the project I've been working on yesterday and today has a lot of FX running, using up about 40-50% of my CPU during playback. I have 12 GB of RAM and I think it was maybe using about 50% of that. But it's happened with different projects before. Any info on this?

If you're on Windows, disable auto-restart: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/disab...ailure-windows

Seems like you have some system/driver issues.

I'm using Windows 8.1 x64, which is up to date. Never had this happen outside of REAPER. Both methods in your link don't seem to apply to Windows 8.1. I believe all of my drivers are up to date. Which ones specifically should I check?

Graphics and network drivers cause the most problems. You can do a full check with DriverBooster. Uninstall it afterward, as it's got some annoying features.

I disabled auto-restart and I updated my drivers (turns out 18 were out of date!). Hopefully that prevents it from happening again. Thanks
