Default Render - browse for directory

Windows 10.

From the render to file window

Under "output" - click "browse"

There's 2 options at the top: "browse for Directory" and "browse for file".

For me it would be good if "browse for directory", opened a similar window to "browse for file" with two panes, with the left hand one showing folders.

I find this a much easier way to navigate.

I'm assuming this is probably to do with windows inbuilt gui rather than reaper and there may not be anything that can be done.

Just a thought......

Just giving this a little bump.

Work has been done recently (and may still be being done) on the render windows so I'm hoping this could be looked at :-)

Bump !

It would be nice to have this also in the Batch File/Item Converter.
On Windows, the Add directory opens a browser to search the directory, which might be very tedious when there are xseveral drives, each with plenty of folders, subfolders...

It might be easier and quicker to copy/paste a directory path, instead of searching a lost folder in a very complex and deep structure of subdirectories.

My 2 cents !

I don't like the Windows folder selector, either.

Workaround: FlashFolder is a utility that makes it easier. You can copy/paste text in the edit field above the selector. You can create and recall favorites. Except when the folder selector is of the NastyFolderSelector variety - there isn't an editable field. Just tendon-ripping mousing.

I think Reaper's folder selectors are mostly of the OrdinaryFolderSelector variety, so I don't feel the pain anymore, but I do remember.

Thanks! That flashfolder definitely helps.

In case anyone needs it, latest links are here

(scroll down to the bottom)

Would still be great to get this changed natively though...;-)
