Default How do I configure a second MIC into Reaper?

Hey, ALL!

Here are images of my current device settings as well as a picture of the MIC interface I have. I have never before connected a second device of any kind and I have a friend who is going to come over who has a condenser MIC and the plan is to connect it to the second place on the PreSonus interface and then configure it to work as a second MIC in Reaper.

What do I need to do to properly configure the 2 MICS?

I'm not so great at a lot of mixing terminology, so please just be aware.....

All you have to do is change the input in REAPER to "input 2" on the track panel. You can easily test this by plugging your mic into input 2 and trying to record something.

Remember that condenser mic's need phantom power, so you want to turn on 48V on your interface.

Hey, Judders:

Thanks a lot! I see how incredibly easy that is!

You know, as I said, I have never hooked anything other than one MIC to my PC, so, in one way I could let myself feel really stupid, but, I realize that I have never had a reason to mess with these settings before. When I first got Reaper I had some trouble with latency on my MIC so I had someone to come over to fix it and they were the ones to configure my MIC for me. Since then everything has worked great and I have had no reason to even look further into this part of the settings. All I know is that Praise God, the MIC works without latency!

Thanks again for your tip on this ........

You might want to ditch the ASIO4ALL driver in favor of Presonus own drivers. Better performance.
