Default Facing a snafu

Greetings. My thanks for being added to the forum for starters. I will be as concise as I can be to save space. I am, at the posting of this thread, running Reaper Version 6.13 (which is the current version, I think). This is my first attempt at home recording. I do not believe all is well in recording land, at least not on my setup. I am able to get sound via my Focusrite 2i2 and I believe I have most of the correct parameters in place. I however cannot monitor output (no speaker icon.) Instinct suggests this is an issue but I may very well be overanalyzing the situation also. I can list specifics if that will help. Thank you for any assistance given.

Go to options>themes>theme adjuster, in track control panel section there's a setting for when monitoring icon should be visible.

Worth mentioning that the icon in the TCP for record monitoring on/off/auto looks more like a triangle laying on its side, rahter than the loudspeaker it is meant to represent....

Greetings once more. I have done as suggested. No change to speak of other than setting Themes to Option B. It may very well be that nothing is amiss. I have little to go on since I am new to this. I will work with what I have. To those who have offered insight, thank you. I appreciate it.

You are using the default theme?

Another possibility is that your track panel might be too narrow. Try dragging to the right the boundary between the panel and the arrange area.
