Default Intel version on M1: slow startup and plugin scan?

Was wondering if anyone else has had experiences with very slow startup times on M1 systems. Once the application is up and running things seem fine, but startup takes 10-30 seconds and it appears that it's still "Scanning VST plugins" even though I have that setting turned off in Preferences.

I just compared the startup-times of my setup:

Intel: 8 Seconds
M1: 3 Seconds

But I have _very few_ VST plugins (maybe 10 or so).
In my book this seems perfectly normal for the M1, non-ARM Software takes roughly 3x the time to start.

On a M1 MacBook Air, 8 GB RAM, Reaper 6.26rc4, ARM and Intel versions are the same at 4 seconds.

Turn off scan at start up. Simple as that. The only time you need to turn it back on is when you install a new plugin. Do the scan, get the new plugin and then immediately turn it off again. Studio One does not need to scan your plugins every time you boot-up. Melodyne can hold up the boot-up process but other than that it should be pretty fast.

Warner says they have that trned off.

Something else is going on, I think. I have somewhere around a thousand plugins, between Waves libraries and what all, and startup is a few seconds, with scanning enabled.

You don't need to turn it back on at all. If you install a new plugin, simply right click in the Add FX menu and "Scan for new plugins."

Turn your WiFi or Ethernet connection off and try again.

Disabled scanning. No change. I still get a short scan every startup.
