Default ThemeBar - The toolbar to switch between your favorite themes!

Theme Bar v1.0beta (2021/04/20)
================================================== ======
The toolbar to switch between your favorite themes!

What is it about?
------------------------------------

I love Reaper for its flexibility! One thing I particularly like is that you are not bound to a static look, but can change the look as you like through themes.
You want Reaper to look like ProTools? Install a theme!
You want Reaper to look like Logic? Install a theme!
You want Reaper to look completely different? Install a theme!

On the downside, selecting a theme can be tedious! The "menu way" is long (Options -> Themes -> Select theme) and the theme adjuster (if available) is as well. In addition, it can quickly happen that you miss a click in the long menu.

So, let's make it easier to change your favorite themes with just one click!
And in case something needs to be adjusted, the Theme Adjuster and Theme Color Control are at hand!
Feeling bored? Just cycle through all your installed themes with next/prev buttons!

Preparations
------------------------------------

Before you start make sure you have
*** MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR EXISTING TOOLBARS - OR GET LOST ***
This toolbar is "Floating toolbar 16" - if you already have a "Toolbar 16" in your config, you need to open the file with a text editor and change the first line to your needs, e.g. change it to "[Floating toolbar 10]".
If you have no idea about what you're reading at this point, you might be good

However, please make regular backups of your ReaperConfig!
Options -> Preferences (or hit CTRL+P) -> General -> Export Configuration -> Check all -> SAVE

*** Select your favorite 4 themes in SWS Extensions ***
  • Extensions -> Resources -> Select "Theme [x]" in upper selectbox
  • If no entry exists yet: Right click -> Add slot
  • Repeat that until you have at least 4 slots
  • Double click on each slot and select a favorite theme (Windows path: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\REAPER\Color Themes )
  • Done - close the Resources window

How to install - now really!
------------------------------------------
  • Options -> Customize menu/toolbars
  • Select "Floating toolbar 16" in upper selectbox
  • hit "Import" button -> select "Lopez-ThemeBar.ReaperMenu"
  • hit "Save" button

Now right-click somewhere on an existing toolbar (e.g. main toolbar) -> Open toolbar -> Hit "Toolbar 16"

Per default, my favorites themes are included in the toolbar (Smooth v6, Flat Madness, My Taste, Clear View), but you might have different ones - so you need to change the name on the buttons!
  • Right click "Smooth" -> Text icon -> Change name to YOUR favorite theme you set in SWS Extensions slot 1
  • Repeat for the other 3 buttons
  • Hit SAVE and close

Now, you might resize the toolbar, or dock it anywhere you want - it depends on your config and your needs.

ToDo
------------------------------------

Actually, this toolbar was made just for myself, but maybe someone else find it useful!?
Maybe you have some nice ideas on how to upgrade this toolbar? Let me know!

At this point, SWS Extensions allows only to select the first 4 themes in Resources->themes via actions.
I already made a feature request to add up to 10 themes - check here: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread....0&page=74#2929
There's a manual on how to modify that on your own, but with the next SWS update it will be gone. You might +1 that feature request

Furthermore, the PREV and NEXT theme buttons at the bottom will cycle through ALL installed themes. There is - actually - no way to cycle just through your "favorite" themes (set in SWS Extension -> Resources)

Changelog
------------------------------------

v1.0beta (2021/04/20) - inital release:
  • Idea made public
  • Just 4 themes possible at the moment
  • Need feedback!

Can it remember MCP and TCP layout options? That's always a bummer for me when I check out a new theme (I'm a theme hoarder) when I put it back I always have to remember what layout options I was using.

Actually no. It's a simple theme switcher, so it does nothing else but switching the theme, like you do via Options menu, more or less.

I was running into the same problem, so let's say I want to have the mixer width in theme A e.g. 100px and on theme B at 150px, but it seems there is no possibility inside Reaper to save that position inside the theme (or "per theme") :/

The only possibility I see for this is to add a screenset (View -> Screensets, or CTRL+E) for each theme as well, which you might load after switching a theme, but this isn't handy at all at this stage.

Sorry
