if it all works how it should work on a button (eg toggle slice cursor)... I have no idea how to do it!

That isn't strictly true I would guess, the dials you have used on the MCP for pan can't currently be done visually (The pointer has to be the standard built in line) so you will need to mod those a little, that is unless you have a version that now allows the pointer to be modded even PNGed some how ? (Which would be great)
Great theme by the way, probably the best I have ever seen for Reaper.

methinks the bulk of requests specific to designing a single theme might not be addressed until at least 4.1
though I'm not sure if I'm being a realist or pessimist with that sentiment.

my only complaint about this theme is that it seems you have to have the TCP pretty tall to get a pan control, and I nearly always pan from the tcp. otherwise I loves it.

Looks really good, sir.
Supercollapsed folders with zero height is not recommendable with current Reaper, though. Items on those tracks are still subject to selection, like marquee or per shift click.

looks like we need a "[x] lock child tracks when supercollapsed" feature.

that's true, and that's the reason why I'm coding a layout called narrow_volume, with this one you'll could get a better visibility of the pan/width.

Say what you want but this only weighs in support of my theory about cat lovers.
Unfortunately, I cannot disclose my theory to avoid offending those who do not worship cats.

Amazing pro-looking-should-be-default theme !
This make me think that Reaper 4 should have a fully fletched floating toolbar with buttons/actions by default.
+1 for separate transport/timeline colors.
+10 for option to repeat images (for background texture patterns).
+100 for custom tcp buttons (png file name + action ID).
+1000 for folder items.
Also, if it existed, would you use a png for docker resize borders (instead of main window color) ?
(made a mockup of your wonderful Crypto theme with such borders : image)
I like the volume icon on the volume fader

Just want to chime in and say this looks great!!
Some opinions:
- Like JBM I'd like to see an overall darker look to this, especially for the MCP and the backgrounds (eg. the transport and toolbar button backgrounds)
- dark dots on the TCP record buttons, more in line with the MCP versions. Something looks odd about the inversion to my eyes
- Would like to see the solo and mute buttons on. Hoping they'll be obvious and clearly lit like the record button.
- Maybe I'm being dim, but what's the deal with the red and blue glow on the FX/On/Off buttons?
- How do track colours look? I'd suggest tinting the MCP/TCP trackname bg and perhaps the vu background if that's possible
- Folder tracks look?
- Not too sure about the TCP volume slider. Also would like the MCP sliders to be a bit more discrete.
- If the backgrounds end up darker (nuendo style) then perhaps insert and send slots on the MCP as well as the custom MCP/TCP knobs could use a little colour instead of everything being grey.
Great work silent, it must have taken a lil' while

Fantastic looking theme, uncluttered, gentle to the eyes, awesome!
Silent, in your screenshot I see different status display colors in transport and timeline. Is this already possible? Or is that still a mockup part and will become possible with your suggestions for extensions of Walter?

+ 1 little request
I think that lot of themers will be happy to see a theme refresh action.
it could significantly speed things up.

well seen. I've retinted the status display to illustarate my request.
I'm confident, I think that will be possible very soon.

Beautiful theme Silent! Favor to ask, would make one for me that is just titled "Messenger"? I actually think your theme is so great that naming it "Death Messenger" makes it sound novel. "Messenger" sounds much better to my ears (and eyes). This theme is the real deal!
Great work!

BEST. THEME. EVER.
Hats off to you!
PS: when you'll release it it would be nice if you include your .ini file to have the toolbars already configured as you did and the splashscreen (the 1st pic that you post did the job perfectly)
