Default While You Sleep - with Sammy Dix

So a while back I was not happy with the lyrics or melodies I was coming up with for this tune and reached out to a few forum members to see if they were interested in having a go at lyrics/vox. In steps Sammy !! We've collaborated on a handful of tunes in the past and Sammy has always come through. This time was no different. While Sam was working on his ideas, I finally came up with my own ideas that I felt didn't completely suck. Having two versions of a track is not a bad thing.

This version features Sammy's lyrics and of course he is performing them.

I think the weakest link in this colab is my mixing skills or lack there of.

Thanks again Sam !!!!

You can't escape from the grit and growl that you do so well !!

Great stuff. Has the vibe and energy of a live performance. Thinking of the soundstage, the main vocal sounds closer and cleaner than the band - I wonder how it would fit if the vocal had a bit more saturated sound.

Nice job gents! Having worked with Sam myself, it's clear he brings his own unique style to every collab he puts his thumbprint on! Really enjoyed the kit on this one Erik!

After hearing this again after a while, it sounds like I should have sang it an octave higher. I think my register is waaay too low. Self critics, man they're annoying. hah

Maybe a high octave with this just beneath? I think that would sound pretty cool and fit well.

Great production and performances all round. Really moves!

Nice! Enjoyed the riffs, and finger work, also the unmistakable voice of good old Sammy. I like the lower register for the vox. Works great. Well done lads.

Great groove, keep the voice low - it rocks.

You together can't go wrong.
I'm curious how it would sound a octave higher though. Kinda tempted to give it a try.
Great work dudes.
