No input from MIDI keyboard in Reaper despite proper settings in place

Hi folks,

My MIDI keyboard is detected in Reaper and properly enabled, all the inputs are in the right place, have a VST on the track, have direct monitoring on, etc. There is no input coming from my MIDI keyboard.

I have a plugin which has an indicator light to show that a button on the keyboard is being pressed, it is not lighting up.

The keyboard IS working in other DAWs as well as standalone VST programs.

I also discovered today that the Virtual MIDI Keyboard within Reaper is not producing anything either.

It's been like this all weekend, I haven't been able to make any music. I've only just been registered to these forums, so before I was asking for help on Reddit. Again everything is working fine in other DAWs and standalone instruments, so I know this is a Reaper issue and not anything else. Any help appreciated.

As the virtual MIDI keyboard is not working, almost certainly a configuration step has been missed. Have a look at the check-list in the User Manual, 3.41.
