I really think it will.
This isn't a sales pitch. I really believe that Reaper is hands down the best composing and editing DAW out there. It's just different enough from the others, that a lot of people try it and just go back to their previous DAW. The learning curve is surprisingly steep for such a simple program.
But the beauty of it is that once you get past that initial step, you're golden. It's fast. Simple. And you're hooked. I know I am. Editing in any other DAW (not mentioning names) is brutal for me now.
Thanks.

Wow.
Have you discussed this with your peers over at GS?
P.S. - Can you please convince ChrisJ to port his NC-17 plugin over to PC? I've offered him a free PC to develop it on, but he's still refusing. Maybe you could make him an offer that he cannot refuse ....so to speak.

I watched the free preview, it looks great.
I am also impressed that the 10 minute preview appears to be a single take! Even if it's not a single take, it speaks well for your editing skills that it seems like one
(OK, I re watched, it's more than one take. Still, nice performance!)

If you saw how many takes it was you'd run me out of town. lol
My video editing skills far outweigh my ability to run a video tutorial in one pass.

Nice preview Kenny. Without looking at your details while I write this, are you from the East Coast? Your voice has that NY / Jersey tone.

Those "east coast" accents vary from the NY area to like Boston or some of those other kinda Northeastern areas but they are very recognizable. OTOH, southern accents seem to kinda all blend in together (to me anyway) until you get down into Texas or Louisiana or similar.
When I hear someone who sounds like the Kennedy's I think "east coast". Kenny's voice has more of a "concrete jungle" tone as opposed to that upper crust Mass. sailboat tone... so NY or thereabouts.
Great looking video series Kenny.

Kenny,
Your voice sounds just fine.
I just watched a few of the tutorials... Damn!! These are freakin' excellent!!
You explain things very clearly without making complex issues complex (ie the routing window).
Get ready for your large dose of Reaper 'love' (once the word spreads on these videos).

Thanks.
It actually gets more narrow than that. My wife is from the North Shore of Long Island and no one talks (tawks) like me there.
We now live in Charleston, SC and people will just ask me to say things so they can laugh.

I will be buying the download and boxed disc and I think I will have a t-shirt made that will say I love Kenny Gioia and New York Pizza. Oh,... and Reaper too.
Is the Mac version of Reaper the same as the PC version in every way?
Obviously the right click of the mouse on a Mac must have been incorporated at some point but I wouldn't know, I prefer to build my own computers thank you very much ;-)

Pretty much the same. The Manual is from a PC perspective (I think) and everything worked on my Mac.
Just switch Alt for Option. Control for Command and Start for Control.

BTW, I meant no ill-will or anything in my comments, I just know that GS has a group of folks who are pretty committed to their own methodologies (in regards to anything) and are pretty inflexible in trying out/embracing newer options when they are presented ...unless of course it's some kind of uber-expensive nibnob that's in favor at the moment.
Anywho, the intro tutorial looks great and I'll probably purchase the set to help extend my knowledge base, which tends to remain rather inflexibly fixed (funny how that worked out, no?) to how I learned to do things through blood sweat and tears ...and the REAPER forum, or course.

No offense taken. I'm actually more interested to see how my loyal Pro Tools fan base is going to take it.
I'm really digging both at the moment. Starting a song in Reaper and staying there until mixing time. Then over to Pro Tools. Reaper just makes it so easy to go back and forth. I can actually do vocals in hotel rooms if I want.

Hey. These are not supposed to be Tips and Tricks. That's next.
Seriously, I'm surprised you picked up any in that video. You'll probably find a few in each of the others.

Hey Kenny, have you any insights on running Reaper rewired with PT. I only get good results running at 1024 latency - do you find the same, or have any suggestions for better performance?

I'm actually getting awful performance running in ReWire right now.
I have to play with it more but I might just buy a digital interface to run sound to my Pro Tools interface.
Reason works fine with either though. I'll try running higher latency to see if that helps.
It just doesn't make sense considering how well they work separately.

Your Loyal Pro tools fan base is using REAPER too!
I'll watch any of your videos.
It's great to have a more formal training for REAPER, because reading the manual sucks. amirite?

The manual is very well written. Especially considering how fast things change.
Although I prefer not to have to read anything.

The manual is exemplary but it is nice to have a somewhat comprehensive video tutorial as well. Reaper needed this. Reaper is big,... no huge. Reaper is my friend. Thank you Cockos, and I only hope someday soon I will make you proud. ;-)

kenny, I watched the free Video.
While I really liked it, one thing made it difficult for me to follow.
You speak very fast, at least for me as a non-native English speaker, I found it a little difficult to follow at times.
The rest is really cool, I enjoyed it and I think it's done in a very good manner
I hope you don't mind this kind of feedback.

Don't mind at all. I do tend to talk really fast.
Keep in mind: This particular video is an introduction. So I jump all over the place. The other videos are all focused on one thing so it's easier to follow along.

FLAC = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_Lossless_Audio_Codec
I believe you said "Fruity loops file"
I hope it's not too hard to get that changed in the V/O.
