Reaper 6 Crashing?
Is it me....or is 6 crashing more. It certainly seems to be unless it's just coincidence...

I had Reaper crash once yesterday. That makes it probably a grand total of once that Reaper has crashed on me in the last year, as I don't remember it ever crashing. Pretty stable. I haven't used it enough yet to know if there is any crashing issue.. definitely not concerned about a single crash (in my case), but will definitely point it out if I have more issues.
Edit: Also, I'm not even 100% sure it crashed, as I didn't see any error report or anything like that. It's not out of the question that I somehow clicked the X without noticing, or something. It was shortly after opening up Reaper.

Difficult to be sure I suppose but I was getting about one per hour of mixing today. No error messages just suddenly 'Not Responding'. has always done that for me but not as often as that. I have been working more with midi today?

I haven't experienced a crash yet.
Do you have the same plugins running each time it crashed?
Perhaps a new plugin compatibility issue?
Note version 6.01 is already out, try that.

It (still) poofs?
See my (still ongoing) issues: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=225956
I haven't upgraded to 6.0 yet. I'm in the middle of a big project, and I guess I don't have the guts until that's finished.
But it would be great to know.

Without crash reports and you spending time to figure out why REAPER crashed, you can't tell if it was REAPER or a plugin that crashed.
Buggy plugins and hardware issues (broken memory, SATA controller dying, CPU overheating etc) have cause basically ALL crashes I've ever had with REAPER.
It's so stable, that I have it on at the background almost 24/7 and it hasn't crashed on me in like... 2-3 years. Last time it did, I hadn't updated my KORG legacy M1 and it caused crashes. As soon as I did, no issues what so ever.
Try to isolate crashes a bit further first so they're easier to fix by the devs
Big updates always carry a risk of being unstable for a while, I'll update to V6 in few months maybe after it's stabilized

Since Justin knows what he's doing, the crash report can be found from the OS's event logs.
Event Viewer (Windows) or Utilities - Console (macOS)
Since after the program crashes, it's not reliable for itself to write a log.
There should be a event there timestamped to the time of the crash. If there isn't then there's something really funky going on

Ok thanks. I do have a couple of new plugins in use so I guess that could be the answer.....anyway next time it goes I will try and find the event log.

Running Win XP
R6 freezes for a half a second when opening Mixer view

Normally if there is a crash, there is a window that appears that tells you so. Also, if you are on windows, it records all the crashes happening, you can find that in the Events Viewer tool that comes in the windows system tools (search "events" in the search bar of windows to open this tool).
You'll have to go under Windows Journal/Application.
If Reaper crashed, you should have an entry containing information that resembles this (here on line 8, there is a crash caused by the Arturia Pigments VST, either due to a bug in said VST, or an incompatibility with Reaper R6):
Faulting application name: reaper.exe, version: 6.0.3.0, time stamp: 0x5e1c70e1
Faulting module name: Pigments.vst3, version: 1.2.1.617, time stamp: 0x5d1a62b0
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00000000000a79b1
Faulting process ID: 0x1260
Faulting application start time: 0x01d5d959642a4718
Faulting application path: R:\Reaper\reaper.exe
Faulting module path: R:\VSTs\vst64\NArturia\Pigments\Pigments.vst3
Report ID: 8a383581-d2b7-46e6-b016-f75b6dea00a5
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:
If you have a crash similar to the one above, it's probably worth opening a bug report with all these informations.

Try to install the latest v5 release then.
https://www.reaper.fm/download-old.php?ver=5x
It should be absolutely stable. If you have issues with v5, then it's most likely something else, not Reaper.
Reaper has got a well deserved reputation of stability among DAWs, based on thousands of users, so if you have loads of problems, then it likely means your system has other problems, and it's worth trying to solve them as they can come bite you at any time, with any program.
v6 is new and had some profound changes so it is expected to be a bit less stable at the moment. The one area that seems to cause the most issues is the compatibility with VSTs.

YEP for me..
I have big drum session tomorrow and Wed.. and been fine here.
But today as I copy or paste I get crashes..like crazy has done it about 4 times.
I opened an older session of this same drummer to copy a template and when I pasted it crashed again.
Then I manually rebuilt the session to prep for tomorrow and that was fine..but then I went to add phone sends to the track he will use and send for click and soon as I did it crashed.
Reaper has never crashed this much for me.. not sure what's going on. This has no plugins related to crash. Only plugs during tracking are in my UA console.

ReaControl
Mine is crashing on any project containing ReaControl (Cockos) but works if I change it to ReaControl (ReaPlugs Cockos).
This is reproduceable.

Out of curiosity, I just checked your post history & it seems like you have had a never ending series of issues that you have reported, but I haven`t seen any indication that you followed any of the advice you were offered. After a year of using Reaper.
Maybe you could try going back over the earliest of the tutorial videos in case you missed something? Seems like your choices are either to do that in the hope of re-learning the basics & knowing how to fix your problems, or else finding another DAW that you like better, one which works for you.
Sorry if this sounds very negative, but you really do need to work with us if you actually want your problems solved, rather than just complaining about them.
