I already bought Fiedler package for Dobly Atmos.
It will be very useful Justin implements the FR: POST-FADER FX to be used comfortably.

That's a $400/year subscription and it is ONLY available for vetted corporate partners of Dolby. If that's not you they will tell you so matter of fact and not sell to you.
The DAWs with the renderer integrated are going to add that $300 in. And you still need permission and then a $400/year subscription to produce actual Atmos consumer content.
Reaper's license would change...

Reaper license model maynot have to change if cockos can sell that as an additional package. So anyone who might need Dolby Atmos native integration can buy that as an add on

seems like sequoia will be enabled for dolby atmos mixing with their 17.1 update as they told on Tonmeister convention. Seems like reaper is missing one big chance again...
Broadcast stations in Germany are preparing for Dolby Atmos workflows. Too bad I had to vote for Pro Tools as DAW of choice as reaper doesn't support the workflows needed (integrated renderer and native 3D object panner). That's a shame. In every other aspect, Reaper is way more 3d audio capable but it just lacks the little but dealbreaking parts.
That's a prime example why reaper still doen't belong to the major DAWs out there.

I agree at 200%. Unfortunately it's very hard to make understand this real, basic, and fundamental concept.
TGH If I were in your shoes, I would have done the same.

But I think you should also consider the cost. Reaper for it‘s functions is a super low priced DAW. And Sequoia on the other side costs 3000€.
I don‘t know, if a Dolby Renderer fits into the price concept of Reaper.

I consider Reaper to be a professional tool. I'd gladly pay 500 or 1000 bucks on top of the commercial license price if it did what's needed in the professional market. Sitting here mixing a 70 minute Dolby Atmos album which I have to render in real time feels like Pro Tools in 2000.
Can't repeat that enough: It's stellar in so many aspects. Otherwise it would be much easier to switch...

If you're talking about using the Fiedler plug-ins, they're not limited to real time. If you set your in and out points, and make sure your render will pass through them. You can hit the export button in Atmos Composer, and then render. I usually have Fiedler set to export the ADM BWF file, and have it playing the stereo mix on its output. That output will be what Reaper renders to disk, but you could make it output any supported speaker configuration, including a simple 5.1.
Funny enough, I generally have so much over-sampling, no anticipative FX, small buffer, and no silence of tails set, so my export render is slower than real-time. But for some straight mix projects I can get many times faster than real-time using this method.

That's just a real hard bottom line, isn't it!
Going this hard with 'copy protection gone wild' style crypticness feels desperate. I don't want another Dolby Renderer "lite" that still needs to render in real time. I'm not sitting behind only stereo speakers or in headphones making faux Atmos either. (And want to never be associated with that kind of thing!) I want to click the render button and refill my coffee like it's the 21st century! Or at least late 20th.
Sitting here with two 2+ hour concerts at present. I try to schedule rendering just before bed. Where's my Commodore64 when I need it, right?
