Default My 32bit plugins not showing any more since update

Hello,

This problem started for me when I updated from 5.95. ALL of my 32 bit plugins no longer work.

On project load I get the error:

"The following effects were in the project file and are not available. REAPER will keep their configurations, but things may not sound as desired.

Track 10: VSTi: PIANO VINTAGE 1984 v1.00 (x86) (lacrima)"

In the VST effect window:

"The following effect plugin could not be loaded"

I have tried the following:

1) Updating reaper (5.973)
2) Rolling back Reaper
3) Deleting all the .ini files
4) Editing the reaper-vstplugins64.ini
5) Check to ensure "Automatic bridging is enabled"
6) Rescanned VST folders at least a dozen times
7) Moved all VSTs to one folder and removed paths from VST plugin Paths
8) Reinstalled 32 bit plugins (for example the one above)
9) Tried clicking "DO NOT scan VST names" - when I do this, the scan always stops on the reaxcomp.dll

I have projects going back 5 years that no longer work. I cannot continue to work like this.

I am on Windows 7 64 bit, 32 GB RAM

Please advise.
Rob

Hi and welcome to the forums!

When you re-scanned, did you just re-scan or did you CLEAR/Re-scan? This is important as if reaper fails on scanning a plugin it automatically marks it as broken & until you do a clear/rescan it will ignore whatever you do. If you think about it, that makes all kinds of sense if its a dodgy plugin, but can be a bit counter-intuitive if you arent aware of this.
Just in case you didnt already, its worth downloading & checking out both the free user guide and the excellent free video tutorials, all available at reaper,fm

Let us know how you get on.

1. Install REAPER portable version before 5.95
2. Update REAPER portable lastest version over it
3. load x86 vst

GOOD LUCK!!

When you install Reaper (64-bit), double-check that you select the 32-bit bridging option too (I can't remember what its proper name is).

Thank you! Installing the Portable version worked. It scanned all my VSTS, and they are all working now.

I simply pasted my license file, reaper.ini, and any other custom configs over top and I am back working.
