Default how to use drum / instrument-map in midi-edior?

Hi,

i red in reaper 1.47 the following new feature is implemented:

MIDI Editor: drum/instrument map mode, querying of VST/rewire key names

But i didn't find any description within the online manual.
I am currently using LoopAZoid as sampler to play the free packet of native instruments drums.

in the midi-editor i chosed mode: named notes. now i do not have the piano roll, but i have the notes named as numbers (0) ... (127).
But where can i define that note (20) is a base drum for example.

greez,
Andreas

indeed. you cant put your own stuff in there, it just queries the vsti for it. Granted, the phrase "Drum maps" implies more

I think it depends upon the VSTi. Using LinPlug RMIV you 'automatically' get the names of the drums & samples listed in the Reaper midi editor rather than just numbers.

For example, you load a sound bank into LinPlug RMIV VSTi and the patch names automatically show in the Reaper midi editor (piano roll) - so not needing a drum map.
