Default When to use "Note" on a MIDI link

Hi all,
When doing MIDI link off the Param button for a plugin there is the option to link MIDI inputs to a parameter. You might use this to link the mod wheel to the freq cutoff for a filter for example.
There is the option to link to any MIDI note. When is this useful?
I've linked middle C to the Enable parameter for a plugin and when I hit middle C it does toggle the value but releasing the key or pressing it again doesn't toggle it back.
Should it?
Or is there another use for doing this kind of MIDI link?
Thanks,
Castle

Supposedly "Note" means that the velocity that comes with the selected note's NOTE-ON event, is used to set the parameter.

Hi Michael,
Wow, it does.
So linked it to wet parameter and velocity sets the wet level proportionally.
Linked it to bypass and a high velocity toggles the parameter on and a low velocity toggles it off.
This could be useful on FX plugins although possibly pretty chaotic.
Many thanks for solving the mystery,
Castle
