There used to be bugs with VST3 so I always use regular 64bit VST. I don't know if it's still the case but except where I don't have other options like Melodyne for ARA2, I stick to the old standard.

I've been using Melda for a long time and except for a few little bugs in between new versions and betas ,wich were corrected, I rarely had serious problems with Melda.

Same here, but something must have gone wrong with the last install. It's still crashing reaper

I installed v12.12 (64-bit) the other day for first time, I deleted all the non-vst3 plugs before I even restarted reaper, played with them (vst3's) for only couple hours total since, but no crashes.

Win7 / REAPER v5.965 / x64

Still working on it, I deleted all the plugins I don't use, and it seems better, but the jury is still out

They are causing mine to crash too, initially Reaper wasn't seeing my old copies of the plugins so I deleted them all and reinstalled - now it sees them but causes an instant crash. Tried VSTs rather than VST3s but same problem. Anyone got any ideas?

Are you "manually" deleting the old plugins, or using the installers clean-up option? I have some custom installation locations for all of my plugins, and I remember a few years ago, after having some serious issues with Melda plugins, doing a complete uninstallation with Melda and reinstalling them, letting Melda install in it's default locations (and adding that path to Reaper's vst scan).
