Default UltraUXThemePatcher?

Anyone use this on Windows 7/8?! I just discovered it, and it looks freaking amazing with a lot of Reaper themes (especially the darker ones)!

and then you gotta install and google for a theme to install.

hahaha it's a joke to me

first thing I do on ANY windows install is set it to classic and get totally rid of all the goo gaa crap

I do keep a screen saver, usually mystify or sometime the very ancient starfield that I kept from the xp days...

theme's for reaper... sure for windows... no thanks

same until i discovered it and found out it's totally boss and looks so sweet. seems extremely responsive - not adding Aero or any visual effects or anything (or at least the particular theme i installed hasn't).

for the love of god don't use UltraUXthemepatcher

causes absolute havoc on win 8/8.1 if you:
(a) try and install latest update KB2919355
(b) try and uninstall the patcher

You end up stuck at a back screen after the windows boot logo

I ended up having to re-install windows grrr

Sorry to hear that. I too used it on my older win 7 machine and although I liked the look. It caused so many issues with other programs and graphics card drivers etc. I too wouldn't recommend it. Perhaps try stardock stuff as that's very tried and tested (but not free).

Win7 64 bit with the patcher for years now; never a seconds issue with it. I found one that was basically all dark grey/black that I absolutely love. I believe that it's called Placebo or something. Super clean, a lot better on the eyes and I got rid of all of that transparent window crap. I hate that stuff.

I like to hang onto all the ram and cpu cycles I can, so plain blue BG and NO effects at all, NO screensavers, etc.

I suspect it makes bugger all difference to my DAW performance, but I feel better knowing I am not chucking away resources on eye candy, be they never so light of footprint.
