Saving a single mod to default theme?

Question re default theme...All I want to change is that the route button appear automatically on all new tracks.

At the moment I need to manually select Layouts Track Panel and then B.

Is there a way to save this permanently to a default project or to the theme?

Very new to themes and I've tried to read a bit about them, but this such a simple and single thing to do, I thought I'd ask.

You can change Layout A to always show that button using the theme adjuster. Options > Themes > Theme Adjuster. Changes made there will be saved as a system preference and will persist.

Alternatively, you can indeed change the default layout to B (Options > Layouts > Track Panel > ) and save the project. Then in Options > Preferences > Project you can set that project file to use as a template for new projects.
