OSC Time Formatting and Configuration Options

I'm not sure where to ask this question regarding OSC. For example, in Reaper's OSC configuration file (Default.ReaperOSC) it has the following option:

TIME f/time s/time/str

If we enable this it will send Reaper's time 1,000 times per second ('0:00.000', '0:00.001', '0:00.002')! But I'm only interested in hours, minutes and seconds. So I was wondering if there is a way to control Reaper to only send minutes and seconds ('0:28') and only send it every second? This gives me good time information for a running sample or video or even a slideshow and it cuts way down on the traffic.
