Default Bug recording MIDI to gradual tempo changes

I found one other thread claiming some odd midi timing issues while recording but it was quite cluttered with a discussion about the click track. This bug is fairly easy to duplicate.

1. open up two new tracks, one for recording midi to and one for a click track.

2. set up the first track with your favourite vsti/dxi (some sort of percussive instrument) then arm it to record from your midi device.

3. set up the second track by inserting click source.

4. Show Master Track and make the tempo map automation enabled and visible. Set up a tempo of 120 bpm for the first bar (for count-in) and then a gradual (linear) tempo change over the next 4 bars to 80 bpm.

5. start recording and attempt to play as close to the beat on the decreasing click track as you can. Do not step enter, make sure you are live recording.

When you stop the transport and play back your recorded midi you will find it starts out in time and ends up being nowhere near the click track or where you played (quite a bit late actually).

I think what is happening is that the midi part is being recorded at a constant tempo (in this case probably 120 bpm) and after recording is being tempo mapped to the gradual tempo change. This theory seems to match the behaviour anyways.

*edit*
It appears that this happens whether recording over a linear tempo change or a sudden (square) tempo change.
