When I open an audio clip to process with my extarnal application (Audition 1.0) everything works fine except that when I save the file and go back into Reaper, the clip is now extended. Extended meaning at the end of the clip, the length is now longer as if I wanted to start it over. This was in in v 1.14. I had 1.12 and it didn't do the same thing. I have not tried 1.15 since it was just posted this morning.
