Default How to humanize/randomize audio files in Reaper?

Hi guys,

I’m sure this is easy to do and I just don’t know how. You guys have straightened me out on so many things in the past. If there is a video you can link me to on the below, I’m all eyes.

Simple - I have an audio item - say a kick drum. I want to easily:

1 - split it into many items where each hit of the kick is its own item

2 - randomize the volume (is it gain?) of each audio item - WITHIN certain bounds (like humanizing, I’d like to specify I don’t want anything to more than, say, 120% of its starting volume and I don’t want anything to go quieter than, say, 80% of its starting volume

3 - randomize the timing - WITHIN certain bounds - let’s say I didn’t want anything to be more than 4ms early or 8ms late

That’s all I want to do, and I’m looking for an automatic way to do it so that I am not manually adjusting each item.

If there are other things that can be randomized similarly (beyond volume and timing) on a per-item basis, over the course of time on one single track, I’m interested in learning about that as well.

Thanks, guys, in advance for the help!

Thank you - this is fantastic for volume, pitch, and pan - just what the dr ordered....

Now, all I need is one for timing - I suppose random nudging of audio items with a cap on how wild it can get - some way to set a range.

Thanks for your help - this is great!

Actually, as luck would have it, I've downloaded ReaPack from the link under the video you linked, installed it as the page suggested:

Quick installation:

From REAPER: Options > Show REAPER resource path in explorer/finder
Put the downloaded file in the UserPlugins subdirectory
Restart REAPER

And these scripts aren't showing. Any idea why?

Thanks,

You need to import X-Raym's repository.
