@planetnine
See the Browse Package action in ReaPack Menu, you can selectively choose what script to install or not.

BTW just an idea regarding themes installation/management. Since Reaper has a built-in mechanism to manage themes, maybe it would be easier to figure out a way to use it instead of reimplementing it?..

@avocadomix
We all what cfillion succeed to do so far, I think you can be sure he will find the best solution possible for theme management :P
But this would means than theme creator will have to make some things so that their theme get recognized by reapack...
We are on it (and expecially cfillion :P)
Don't hesitate to make a donation to support ReaPack dev !

That's great!
I will be able to donate in a couple of months. Can not give out anything meaningful right now, unfortunately. But I remember my promises.

So what are all of you doing with Reapack? Are you searching for interesting scripts and installing them selectively or are you going whole hog and just downloading them all.
I kind of lean towards downloading them selectively.

Thank you cfillion for creating this, and thanks again to all of our generous scripters.
I was initially thinking I'd just install a few select scripts as needed, but the benefit of installing all of them is that they'll come up when searching for an action (rather than having to search actions and then scripts each time). I always filter searches in the action list (as opposed to browsing) so having an extra 500 lines in there won't be an issue.

Fantastic work, many thanks to everyone who contributed to this, so much useful stuff here
Also... while I don't want to put any scripters out of a job; Justin & Schwa - if you're looking for ideas to implement natively, some of this stuff is gold. Not to single out any one in particular, but Julian's envelope and cc tools are stellar
Cheers

Good work!
I have a little question. Some of those scripts I already installed, e.g. X-Raym's collection. After installing the manager and just installing everything now I got a lot of duplicate entries in the actions list. Any easy way to clean up the mess? Did I overlook something like an pre-check?

I'm putting that in a video this week but the quick answer is to, delete old scripts from folder, then use MPL's "Delete nonexistent scripts from ActionList.lua" (this was added to ReaPack today)

HI!
I´d like to thank you immensely for what you have done, guys! - and I have just donated to support the thanks - I tested it and it´s already a great aid to manage scripts, JS, etc. One thing I´d like to suggest : is there any possibility to have some kind of cleaning feature that could remove duplicated actions in Reaper? I say this because I have a lot of actions already installed in custom folders and when I install from Reapack, I get a lot of duplicated actions in the list. It would be good to be able to leave only the Reapack versions - and even better if key/MIDI shortcuts in the actions to be removed could be transferred automatically to the Reapack ones -. Is this possible?
Infinite thanks, really!

There is this:
mpl_Delete nonexistent scripts from ActionList.lua
Which is very handy.
Yes?

Thanks for the feedback!
Hmm, if I remove my custom script folder and apply the action, it will probably do a big part of what I´m looking for, isn´t it?
Now a great aid would be to move the shortcuts to the Reapack versions, since it can be a rather painful work...

Excellent work guys! This is a game changer in REAPER scripting and will bring a ton more attention to it.
Script authors: remember to write documentation in the comment block! Some scripts don't have it and that can be pretty scary for new users. Ideally there would be some standardized location for the documentation so it could be shown by the ReaPack UI (this has probably been discussed already, kind of late to the party here), since looking for it inside the code is not a good user experience either.
Anyway, keep up the great work!

Maybe a way to report an issue with a package can be implemented? bugs, missing documentation etc
ReaPack can be used for much more than scripts.
One of the common complaints about REAPER is lack of included instruments, loops, templates etc. All these could be downloaded through ReaPack and the standard install of REAPER remains bloat-free.
I'd love to see LAME, SWS and ReaPack as options in the REAPER installer.

Soli Deo Gloria, are your old actions have exactly same name as new ReaPack versions? I need to know somehow what factor to use for comparing/replacing script.

REAMenu woes - where are my extensions?
I've working through the reaper & reapack u.guides, and struggling with my menu's.
Haven't started configuring my own (yet), have the ReaMenu pack and don't know if I've removed some things I need, or if I'm just doing it wrong.
I tried keeping another reaper copy (with default config), but whichever reaper.exe I launch has the menuset in my roaming userpath
Quote:
Open the Package Browser from the Extensions > ReaPack > Browse packages menu entry:
|
- I can't see Extensions... I can find the 'reapack' actions,in the Action 'Editor' but.. aren't any menu's created by default? Just a bit confused by the quoted reference)
I searched reaper-menu.ini for "extensions" / "reapack"...
(It opened after a reaper restart, I enabled some repo's... then my laptop blue-screened again, so I've re-launched Reaper, now looking for menu entries, as usual).
Can someone please clarify this total noob q?
Thanks

@aspiringSynthesisingAlch
With the ReaMenus set it's under Memory > Default menu: Main Extensions I believe.
You can move it to a more useful location using Options > Customize menus/toolbars if you want (select "Main extensions").
And as you mentioned all ReaPack features can be accessed from the Action List.

Yes, the name is the same - there could be some exceptions, but in those cases I would have to deal with it manually, of course -...
Thank you for the attention!

Only if this is enabled I think.
Maybe MikeStopContinues can include ReaPack menu entries in next ReaMenus update, would be nice.

I'd appreciate if you could elaborate on what exactly "does not work as stated", maybe it can be sorted out and fixed.
Here's how to uninstall ReaPack and any traces of it: - Optional: Uninstall any package you installed with it (browse packages > select all and right click > uninstall selection)
- Remove ReaPack's dll or dylib file from your UserPlugins folder. It will be gone the next time REAPER is started.
- Remove reapack.ini and the ReaPack directory to cleanup your resource folder

OS X version requirement
Oh no! reapack.com states "At least OS X 10.10"! I am running 10.9, will it work or not??

@MonkeyBars
I made a fix for supporting older OS X versions (up to 10.7) a few days ago, it just need some testing now.
Try this build and report if it works for you: http://files.cfillion.tk/reapack/v1.0%40418d9ed/.
