Default Can't see Quantize dialog

Probably doing something really dumb here ... hitting Q in the MIDI editor but no dialog box appears.

When I click on the Q or press the Q key the Pianoroll editor window becomes focused/unfocussed. So it's like the Quantize window is opening somewhere that I cannot see.

whut?

I think that happened in that thread:

It seems the solution was:

Open REAPER.ini in a text editor (eg Notepad)
Find these 2 lines
quantwnd_x=285
quantwnd_y=191
and edit them, you probably have the window placed offscreen.
Close Reaper (this is important)
Save REAPER.ini
Re-open Reaper.
This should save you losing your settings by starting Reaper with its default settings.

Strange... It may be that it's off the screen somewhere.

Something to try:
- Press "Q" in MIDI Editor
- Press "Alt" + "Space" then press "Enter" (This enables 'move dialog box' with arrow keys).
- Check along the borders of your screen - look for a 'four arrows' symbol.
- Use arrow keys to move dialog box. (Eg if it's off the top of the screen move it down).
- Press "Enter" to stop moving dialog box.

Otherwise you might want to re-install and see if it appears.

Or you could edit the .ini like above.

Hi folks,

The solution to this particular problem can be found here:

http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=69700

Thank you both!

Yes, it seems that somehow the Quantize window was waaay off screen somewhere, so setting it's absolute position in the Reaper.ini file was the way to fix it.

No idea how the window got way off screen in the first place though.

Anyway - my day is now not in tatters.

In v4 you don't have to edit reaper.ini - open the editor, open the (invisible) quantize dialog, open the Actions window, select the "main" section in the top right dropdown, find the action "Reset position (cascade) all floating windows" and run it.

I remember you already suggested that to someone who had the same problem as above, but it didn't work. Could this particular pop window be treated differently?
