Default Mass-Editing question (SOLVED)

Hello, kind Fellas

I have a specific Task I need to solve and, before I stumble into it myself and lose time, maybe some more experienced Reaper User´s can help me out.

the Case:

I have roughly 3000 Vocal Takes (it´s a Post-Job, so the amount is nothing fancy). I have to edit them in a specific way, so everything is gonna Line-Up in the same Ballpark.

- Breath´s are only going to appear from a specific time to a specific time
- Notes I need to correct are only going to appear from a specific time to a specific time
- said Notes change over the course of time, so I need 3 different settings for 3 different time-areas

My first intention was to write automation for this, which wouldn´t be a problem, but is there the possibility to write one automation and apply this to the called 3000 Track´s without manually copying this? As I´m not a native english-speaker I hope my point is relatively understandable.

Hope one can help

Regards

You might try this technique.

Thanks for replying!
That´s not what I need. I don´t need to retime certain aspects of a performance. I have files where I want to specify 4 different Steps. Let´s call them ABCD

A: De-Breathing
B: Pitch Correction Setting 1
C: Pitch Correction Setting 2
D: Pitch Correction Setting 3

I`m able to write automation for parameter changes and stuff but I need a way to write the automation once and process every single track of the 3000 with the same automation. I´m not long enough with Reaper to know where to start if I want to process like this.

Regards

I think a track template might be the way. Edit file #1 and save the track as a template. I don't know how many tracks you'd be able to load and render in one project, duplicating your template track as you go, then drag the files into the arrange area. Try with just 5 to start with?

I would import the media items onto seperate tracks, add one track at the top and make it a folder so that all tracks are routed through it. Have the FX and the automation only once on the folder track. Then select all items (ctrl+a) and render with the source set to items via master track and no tail. No idea how many tracks at the same time would work well maybe 300? 600? All of them?

Yes, that's the way to go. I just tried it with 800 short samples, took 20 seconds and it only crashed (!!!) when I tried to play all 800 tracks - though this was in a second project tab

Thank you for testing! I did not think about what would happen when you press play, that is a dangerously loud signal, right?
