Default Snap razor edit area to zero crossings?

Can we do that somehow?
Would be handy for cutting out noises etc. from recordings without creating clicks (I know there's crossfading... ).

Have you checked overlap and crossfade when finalizing razor edits? Very helpful in my opinion and saves a step.

You could also use option z to slice at previous zero crossings and then make a razor edit on the separate item if snap to items is on for razor edits.

Both good suggestions, will try what fits best, thank you.

You're welcome.

I noticed though, when having this option enabled, making a razor edit area and deleting it with Ripple editing enabled, it does move the later item to the earlier one (fills the gap) but no auto-crossfade happens in this case (what I had hoped/expected).

I'm not sure if that behaviour can be expected with that option enabled (from the wording of it), then it would be a bug, or is just my wishful thinking.

I think it is legitimate to expect that, because an intentional deletion would count as a „finalization“ from my point of view.
So a bug then?
