Default howto disable envelope copy when working inside time selection?

i couldn't find the discussion i once had about this, so i thought i'd ask again.

when making final touches on a song, i leave the time selection project-wide, so that i can quickly render a time-selection length wav encapsulating the whole song.

however, i often end up with this issue:

1- create time selection that includes an AI early
2- move a later item.
3- issue: the unselected AI earlier in the time selection goes insane and folds itself over and over

note that this also results in some extremely laggy behavior due to all of the AI, and it's also quite difficult to see in a busy project, since it turns a dull grey

desired behavior: time selection doesn't make AI move when dragging other items. AI should only move while selected, or if "move with item" is on

If I change the mouse modifier for Media Item: Left Drag (Cntrl key) to 'Copy item ignoring time selection' the AI's don't move, same for Move Item.

I do the same thing. But I have set up buttons for SWS: Save time selection, slot 5, and SWS: Restore time selection, slot 5 so that I can quickly restore the full time selection before rendering. This allows me to use time selection also for other things, such as time selection rendering of shorter parts, and removing the time selection entirely when it gets in the way.
