Default RMS Meter? Audio book processing for Audible ACX?

I am working on an audio book and trying to conform to the specs here: https://www.acx.com/help/acx-audio-s...ents/201456300

They don't specify LUFS, they specify RMS and want between -23 and -18dBRMS.

Is there a good RMS meter you could reccomend for this?

I will definitely try it, thanks! I wonder how Audible is measuring RMS

Reaper has native actions to analyze loudness of items. You’ll need to render any FX you’ve added, but since you need the integrated total of the whole piece, it’s probably still faster than playing the whole length of the thing through a plugin.

If you right click the master meter you can see the option to display RMS levels.

A "meter" isn't that helpful. You need to measure the RMS level of the overall file.

Audacity also has a Recommended Audiobook Mastering Process which will nail the RMS & peak requirements every time. Of course it's written for Audacity but it could be adapted for REAPER.

...Normally the RMS levels in your raw recording will be too low. Then when you boost the volume your peaks go out of spec. The limiting will take care of the peaks, but you're also boosting the noise floor and if your noise goes out of spec that can be a more difficult challenge.

I made a toolbar button that runs the Analyze Loudness action. It says “Anal” which makes me laugh every time. Because, ya know, I’m twelve.

I'll second Doug's suggestion. The Audacity community and devs probably know more about ACX specs than any other, including ACX.

Thank you @DVDdoug....I'm new here, and about to do my first audiobook--AND use REAPER for the first time--so this is very helpful =)
