Imagine it's raining and it doesn't stop! What do you do?
Just listen to our song:

Nice feel. I particularly like the low key groove and interplay between the guitars and bass during the verses.

I also really dig that one particular crunchy guitar tone that leads into raising the intensity in a few parts. You know the one I'm talking about? There are a couple rakes and then a slide into a chord. What are you using for this bit (guitar and recording chain)? Was this bit cut and paste to different parts of the song by any chance? To my ears it sounds like it was (either that or the guitar player is inhumanly consistent ).

Also good, the tune held my interest from start to finish. I always focus on arrangement and I found this one really engaging.

Ahh, you probably mean the slide-ins? These are simply slide-ins,
nothing more. The guitar that our guitarist prefers to use for it is an
Ibanez Gio. The rest is really just mixing: EQ-ing here and there, a
little compression - and voilà, that's it.

Well, that's great to hear.

We are very committed and are working on somehow reconciling
the "overall feeling" with the song components vocal line, motif and
groove. And to be honest, we're never really satisfied.

Thanks! Interested in the recording chain more so for the basic the tone. Ibanez Gio, yes, but what amp (real or software), settings, pedals, etc? If you don't mind of course.

Haha, we've recorded so many guitar tracks - and we still do that, that
I don't really know what it was exactly anymore. I guess that was our
VOX VT40, because it can do everything.

Pedals are - almost always - compressor, some chorus, noise reduction,
gate. Which device is almost irrelevant, you always have to find the
right suitable setting. Our guitarist usually uses a combination of
pedals and the VOX internal effects.

And yet it is possible that the way of playing or the sound in the mix
no longer fits. That means: everything over again, readjusted, re-mike,
re-record, check and try out. It can happen that we don't see daylight
on such days.
