v6.16 update caused 'apply track template' slot to reset to max. = 4

Any actions I have that use the 'S&M_APPLY_TRTEMPLATE#..' command has an error. That command is suddenly not accepted.

Why? Because it only goes up to '4' slots. So for # > 4, it's an error.

The update must have caused this.

Why did the update do this?

I think it's a bug.

This sounds like it's related to SWS and should probably go to the SWS issue tracker.

Anyway, you can try this:
Locate Reaper resource path (you can run the action 'Show REAPER resource path in explorer'), open S&M.ini which is found there in a text editor, locate the [TrackTemplates] section and set Max_slot to your desired value, save the file and (re-)start Reaper.

You're right - SWS related.

I have updated the S&M.ini file but it's a worry if this file will be reset with each update.

Anyhow, not a catastrophe.


Edit: I just wanted to alert others to this, as I'm aware people custom edit their .ini files.

Which version were you using before updating to v6.16? I can think of a way this could have happened but only if you're on Windows and the previous version was older than 5.70 (EDIT: + SWS older than v2.9.8)...

Max_slot is how many slots are stored in that .ini section. The setting controlling the amount of dynamic actions is:

As it turns out I was using an old version from Feb 2019 and yes I am on Windows.

I've updated to v2.12.1.0 which seems to be the latest.
