You probably get the Spanish google-result because you're in Spain (Or have something in your browser or computer set to Spanish)

You guys got all the lovely summer-weather

The Safari-warning is an error. The actual VLC download* is identical whether you come from the Spanish page or the front-page.

Safari probably uses some heuristic detection that gets confused by the Spanish re-direction page.

*The download (at least as of today, but will of course change when they update VLC to a later version) is this, both from the front-page and from the Spanish page: https://get.videolan.org/vlc/3.0.16/...0.16-win64.exe

You can check the URL here: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/url (I just checked the Spanish one, and it's all green )

Default Video Render is Bigger than it used to be...

Hi ¡¡¡

After last Reaper's updates, videos that I render are bigger that what the used to be.

I'm using the same preset as always, same kind of source,... all the same...

What it used to be around 300 mb is now 3Gb ...

Does anybody else happen something similar ...

Thanks

I'm using:

ffmpeg (lastbuilt)

You should post this in the video section of the forum as well, if you haven't already.

This information saved my butt. Thanks so much – simply installing VLC on my Big Sur Mini solved my video playback issues.

For everyone else, it's easier to export to a free lossless format and then transcode that with the highly effective and fast free tool Handbrake.
I am using MacOS and the AVFoundation encoder. Is it meaningless to go the lossless to Handbrake route?

IMO yes. just make sure you use a high enough bitrate when rendering any it will look good.
Handbrake is still a useful tool on occasion

I must say that it is quite annoying though. The results I'e experienced using DNxHD are fantastic, and it seems widely used in post production. To only be able to use in 32bit operation is a real limitation, especially when scoring to picture.

Thanks,

Hi ,

You're welcome, glad I could help clarify things for you. I understand your frustration regarding the limitation of using DNxHD only in 32-bit operation. It can be inconvenient, especially for scoring to picture. Hopefully, future updates will address this issue.

Best regards,

I wonder why Reaper is not doing the same, at least for what would be easy to do, like offering all the formats and codecs supported by ffmpeg/libav...
