Default Scaler in Reaper for Live Performance

Hi all,

I am learning to play the piano but until I get better I want to use Scaler to play backing chords in a live setting with a group of amateur musicians. Is anyone using Scaler inside Reaper with playback of chords being triggered by a midi keyboard or controller? What’s the most efficient way of having Scaler trigger several different VST instruments using different Scaler parameters (performances) for each virtual instrument?

Thanks for any help?

I haven't used Scaler but one thing you might try is sending midi to the other tracks. Create a send from the button in the track view, remove the audio send, and adjust the midi send to specific tracks and channels as needed. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, check out the Reaper Mania channel on Youtube and look for videos about sending audio and midi from one track to another (or other channels, of course). It's pretty basic stuff, but check back in if you're having trouble figuring out how to send midi. Or search the threads in the Reaper Forum.
