Default MIDI issue

Hi
I had a total meltdown of the OS on my DAW
Damn updates anyway I had it all set up no issues
but now I get this error when I play anything
I know I have something set wrong
Starting over from the beginning unplanned is no fun
I've attached pictures to hopefully be enough info
Thanks for any help
Cheers
Perry

Well I guess I just fixed it myself
Not sure what it was lord know I tried everything
well I both my MIDI controllers turn off and booted Reaper
Well low and behold the error message was for both keyboards
so I looked at my keyboards and noticed both were turned off
a few choice words later I had them back on and then booted Reaper
Magically no errors! Wow, I'm a genius and did not know it.
Problem solved
Cheers

Let me try again to make them smaller in data size, not image
size I used the snip and sketch but they were too big
I post new pics as soon as I can make them
Working on it been trying to attach files forum won't let that happen
keeps saying I already have attached the file and that I have changed the name many times.
I'll need more coffee and a brain break to figure out how to bypass this. I may have to start a new thread. Coffee!!!

That looks exactly the problem I get when I start Reaper I posted asking about this issue. If I disconnect the USB midi cable to the keyboard and then reconnect it followed by clicking on Retry things work for me. I don't know what the cause of it is.

I can already see the first image. It was the second image I wanted you to repost. Have you tried the action that resets midi devices?

If it is happening as error like mine I haven’t noticed a difference but will try that as I did update the keyboard firmware which introduced some ‘new’ midi items and I think updated my Novation Impulse midi device.

Truth be told it’s hard to recall every detail of that process. But old School Audio Guy I thought said he’d had to a complete reinstall in his original post so you’d expect the setup to be correct.

OK Reset all MIDI devices under functions did not fix the problem
I know something is set wrong just can't find it
Also tried resetting under Preferences no difference

Well I have tried this many times and no effect but unplugging the MIDI cable and Resetting the MIDI devices has I believed fixed the issues
I need to open/close, reboot/restart to make sure
I think I'm making progress
Time will tell

Update
I opened the Arturia MIDI Control Center and turned off the USB to MIDI out
rebooted Reaper no error so Let's see if it was the Arturia MCC that was causing
and I turned back on USB to MIDI Out no change still no errors
???Very puzzling? but at least it has gone away for now
Time will tell

Sounds promising then. Pleased you found something that works. I don’t have anywhere to adjust such settings for the Novation keyboard drivers, at least none I can recall or have found.

If you are anything like me then I find that there are so many ‘options’ or places which can be adjusted it is hard to remember everything between drivers and reaper or and software come to that.
