Found it in the action list.
The theme tweaker is not very convenient now because when you click on a color setting it opens a window with a color editor (as expected) but then you can't simply click on another setting, you need first to close the color editor. I would like to see the color editor window simply refresh.
EDIT: actually it opens a new color editor but behind the one that is already open, so it's not visible unless you close/move the one in the front.
SUBEDIT: Actually the new color editor is invisible until you close the old one.
EDIT2: Also, when you click on a color setting lane while a color editor window is already open it doesn't refresh the main window (of the tweaker).
And also: you can't scroll in the tweaker when a color editor window is open.

It's only searchable from the actions list. The idea being that this window is only really used by those developing/editing themes, and most people shouldn't really bother with it...

Beat patterns: works great but it would be nice if it wasn't possible to write longer beat patterns than what the time signature allows. Right now the excessive letters are deleted when the metronome window is closed.

Ah I see thanks. I'm still inclined to document it as I suspect a significant minority of people will want to tweak their favorite themes.

The Media Explorer doesn't respond to any theme color change. I guess it should follow the "window list" colors...

Ok, this is awesome. But I have one major, major request since this is the only time I can do it before Version 6.
Please, please please fix the nomenclature of the program once and for all (in English, anyway).
1. There are numerous problems with interchangeable words in the action list names. Too many to list here, you can find some lists by people in forum search
2. Phase flip is wrong. Polarity flip. Talking about the button in the TCP aswell as the name for it, in WALTER code. If its going to change any time, NOW IS THE TIME so that the themes developed for 5 can be started properly.
One small request and one large, time consuming request, however I think crowd-sourcing the scrutiny should work. Lots of English experts here.
My other request, if I may, is to make sure all text entry areas work like you would expect them to. It is the first thing that jumps out at me every time I use Reaper and makes me think 'this isn't right at all'. I am talking about no visible highlighting in Windows version (although it works - just can't see what letters you highlighted), select all not doing anything, Ctrl + backspace not deleting whole words, and other inconsistencies with default Windows UI guidelines.
Judging purely based on what has been changed, I am not sure that Reaper is really undergoing enough of a drastic change to call it version 5. Those highlights by Justin are nice features indeed, but the core issues and FRs I don't feel have been addressed.
I just don't want to see things being pushed too far into the future because of the new version number. I understand the want to not mess up peoples workflow until big version numbers, so they can expect consistency across an entire version + its decimal updates, but this may be preemptive and get in the way of further dramatic changes.
Regardless, I'm just a guy, with some opinions. Congratulations on what has obviously been a lot of work and lastly... you guys tease better than a girlfriend whose chained you to the bed for 2 hours and won't use more than her pinky finger. And its so good.

We're off again! Let the fun begin.
SMPTE users, check the timeruler. It now displays useful values, even at 29.97df timecode. OSX users now get somethijg even better than FFMPEG, and we can now compensate for display and system latency, so get testing!
Obviously this is the beginning of the journey, so keep your hair on and your tongue in check.
Waves Windows x64 VST3 works great here, but i haven't tested sidechain functionality yet.
Now there's work to be done.

Congratulation on the release guys, but I'm not terribly excited about the feature list. How many of the elevated requests were implemented?

ARA doesn't depend on VST3, it could just as well be implemented on top of VST2. ARA also doesn't mean a bundled Melodyne.

The first V5 release seems relatively interesting, thanks Cockos! I hope more things will be added later to make V5 a real ace.

Devs; a big thanks for VST3 support This was getting almost critical as more and more plugins developers were starting to offer "VST3 only" versions of their plugins.
And although yes VST3 != ARA, I feel it's a sign that ARA is coming. I have no proof, just a hunch.

Oppologies in advanced, but i must went alittle or my face will blow off.
They, just, started.. the painting is not finished yet.
That alone makes it uncritiquable, unwhineable.. *what?
The exitement is about the first step into the next generation of what Ever they have in store for
us.
And the news is about our fav DAW pushing 5.
They cant please everybody just to be nice, they make choices just like the rest of us, but i do
believe Cockos makes a bit more Mature ones so, everyone is not going to like it for sure, or feel left out.
Even if it is an improvement without a doubt! "some" is not going to like it and whine, because
they have something specific in mind that suits their own needs and wishes and what evs.
For me this step of principle (5) is a happy moment and my first thought sure aint adding all my
personal requests infront of the party to block out the sun.
Believe me, i have requests also, duh!
Relax, enjoy the show that juuuust started a few seconds ago.
I do believe that they are listening, reading, but i also believe if anyone with an actual good FR
comes of like a spoiled brat, the the devs can just pft! on that how ever they see fit.
So, i recommend civilized communication without "clever" psychology.
Thanks for reading, cue the re-employed cricket band & be gentle.
Ahh that felt good *inhales'
Ps, that WAS.. the small verion.

The new track fader scaled volume envelope seems quite quirky yet.

This is the new option with the track in Read mode.

Merry Xmas!
Thanks for more toolbars - goes hand in hand with contextual toolbars that Breeder did!
And now, for the features that should definitely make it into v5.0: automation clips, anyone? Visual polyphonic AT display in MIDI editor, anyone? Note off velocity lane?

Regarding the new theme tweak window: add a search field to it, like we have in Preferences.
Also, add a button to call up theme element finder from this window.

Pleeeeeease improve FX browser for v5:
* JS in subfolders (plus better sorting of JS plugins - it makes more sense to sort them by purpose, rather than by the person who did it, or a weird mix of both as it is now)
* Allow subfolders in My Folders
* Drag-and-drop reordering of My Folders. Current method is simply slow and retarded.
Somewhat related to FX browser:
* Right-clicking the track FX button Recently Used menu has alphabetical order of used plugins, whereas the FX browser entry has them ordered by time of usage (which makes more sense). Please make both identical (sort by time).

Wow, expecting v5, but not so early
Thank you, Cockos, very nice X-mas present early !
The new interface is promising : i liked the v4 default a lot, and the new one makes a difference, but after just a couple minutes, i got used to it : i guess it is a step towards vector-based UI elements, and overall it is well designed (routing arrows on the TCP, etc).
Video support & editing improvements will be welcomed : Reaper is so good and efficient at working with audio that it will be equally as great with video
Also, of course, VST & JS support "polishing" is great news : more JS user friendlyness and VST3 support will be great !
One little thing : on Win7 x64, i miss the "new" and "recently used" tabs in the plugin browser, which i use extensively on my Win32 computer... Any chance to have 1:1 similar versions between 32 and 64bit versions ?
It's all details and small features, but at the end of the day it makes quite a difference and make interoperability more efficient and reliable
Thanks again Cockos teamm for making Reaper what it is.

The new volume envelope scaling is cool, but the slider dB labels are completely wrong.
Also, if the new vol env scaling is supposed to follow the track volume slider, it should work within the volume slider range. Currently it has a separate setting for volume envelope range, which caps at +6 dB. I have my volume slider range set to +12 dB at max, and volume envelope doesn't quite follow this.
Also, the midpoint line in the envelope lane is misplaced in this new scaling mode. It should be positioned EXACTLY where 0 dB is, and nowhere else, because the middle of the lane doesn't represent 0 dB anymore!

+ Automation: new volume envelope type that mimics track fader scaling
BUG with items volume when the file is multichannel : the level (visual and processed) doesn't follow the last point of the envelope
(and now I have to change my signature !)
