Default Tempo Detect of Audio Clip

Hi All!

What's the quickest way to find the tempo of an audio clip in Reaper?

I'm watching a video, hopefully will give me the answer:-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhb8...ature=emb_logo

I have another issue as well though.

At the beginning he tabs to the first transient but I notice when I zoomed in, the very beginning of my media audio clip has a very slight crossfade at the start. I manually got rid of it and after tabbing to the first transient and press S to slice the transient, again, there's a crossfade applied. Anyone know why?

Thanks!

There is are options in Reaper Preferences somewhere to disable/enable fades on splits and set fade time. It's usually better to set it to a very short time instead (0.1 to 5 mSec) to avoid audio glitches when transitioning from one item to the next.

Yeah found it. Options, Preferences, Media Item Defaults then uncheck the box which says Create automatic fade-in/fade-out for new items, length.
