Okay,

I think I've got at least a piece of this.

Just in case anyone was still interested, I thought I'd share my progress with this project.

I've had to accept that the original piano sound is impossible to recreate (short of recording the original instrument in Florida). I have a strong hunch that when Bobby Whitlock overdubbed/doubled the original take, the piano had gone slightly out of tune. Anyone who's ever played piano knows that sound. The piano is 90-95% of the energy and emotion of that track.

This means I'm going to have to find my own energy and emotion. The work I do from here out is my own expression. This is a blessing and a curse. I'd like listeners to enjoy my interpretation, but that's probably not going to happen. I'll just do my best to make it my own and leave it at that.

I'm pretty close, but I thought I'd just update you guys to keep myself honest.

Anyway, here's the link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/c62qu6knkx...%2029.wav?dl=0
