GLUE deletes the VIDEO part ????

I'm editing my videos and cutting out some smaller parts - I pull the remaining part together so the hole disappeares

BUT

if I GLUE the pieces together the video screen is just BLACK ?????

Why ?

Yes, you only get the sound, if there are any.
Just undo.
Go to File - Render, have a look at Output format. I guess you have wav, choose a Video format
If you have sound in the videofile you wanna use, put a copy of the videofile on another track, glue that file and you get only the sound. Group sound and video together for sync.
