Default Melodyne 5 issues

Trying out melodyne 5 and two things

- not able to load old projects that were made w melodyne 4
- chord track doesn't line up

now, it won't load all projects, simply crashes on startup.

Can't load the project at all?

Do you have Melodyne 4 and Melodyne 5 available now (or just Melodyne 5?). I'm looking to upgrade but it would be a problem if Melodyne 4 was replaced and I was unable to access old projects because 5 isn't backward compatible!

Also curious about the chord track. Are the line up issues due to empty space at the start? Or is it something else?

Is the chord track even useful in Reaper if I exported it? I'm a bit behind on functionality.

Were you using Melodyne 4 VST2, or were you using the VST3/ARA version?

It is currently NOT backwards compatible from my experience. Unsure if it's a reaper problem or a melodyne problem. I have something out to support.

no idea, it just doesn't line up and has extra chords at the beginning or end.

I am not sure, I haven't gotten that far. I stopped using it for now. I will update it soon when I have time.

Melodyne 5 is working fine in the standalone program but when I load the vst3 on a track I get an instant BSOD and my computer restarts. I disabled ARA in Reaper and it doesn't do it now. Anybody else having these issues?

EDIT: I updated reaper and no BSOD so that is my bad, I didn't even realize the last update. I will check how well it's working and try and update

With Reaper 6.11 ARA is working great with the Melodyne VST3 with no issues. I have to figure out the new features now but I can't imagine that they aren't great

Melodyne 5.01 is the current version.

Maybe it has some "feature" fixes

Default what could be saving within a project or an ini file preventing melodyne from loading

the only way I can get the melodyne 5 demo to run is to start a totally new project, delete all plugins, and insert melodyne on a track, and save it.

it reopens fine.

But in the situation where I have rpps from other studios, older projects, or even new projects with certain plugins on them (ones I typically use) it crashes.

bizarre.

I can load all of those plugins new on projects which started from scratch, and then melodyne and it works.

But it's like something was saved in old projects preventing melodyne from opening...

maybe data from one of these plugins which is saved in the file?

Have you tried to contact Celemony. They respond very fast and very helpful. I have had multiple replies on one day until it was solved.

I have no issues with Melodyne 5.
