Default Has anyone edited the TouchOSC LogicPad, removing or adding buttons?

Hey all,

I recently started reading as much as possible on this and I'm wondering if anyone has edited the TouchOSC LogicPad screen to either remove or add custom buttons, three in particular for me is - Return to Zero (I press play, stop and play again), Arm all tracks for Record/Disarm and Set all tracks to 0db? Even though my Reaper template is set to start at measure one and faders at 0db for all of my drum tracks, TouchOSC often defaults to track one and two at -4db and I don't know why. With my iPad Pro 12.9 and big hands I have to gently try to bring those two faders back to 0db, from behind the drum set, it can become a pain.

I hope I've explained it well enough and appreciate your help.

Hi george,

Try with Reaper actions.

First: Reaper actions seem not to work with the standard LogicPad.ReaperOSC. I had to insert this line:

ACTION i/action s/action/str t/action/@ f/action/@/cc

2. in the touchOSC editor right-click in the layout (not on an object) and create a push or toggle button
3. select the newly created button and change the settings to your like (send on press/release, color, name etc.)
4. deselect "OSC: auto" and put the OSC action address in the box below:

/action/Reaper's action number

for example:

- to refresh all settings put "/action/41743" in the box
- to return to project start: "/action/40042"
- to arm all tracks for recording: "/action/40490"

regards, mj

Thanks mj,

I can't wait to try this. I've been searching for a list of related Touchosc editor actions or websites just like you have. I'm totally new at this and enjoying the use of remotely controlling Reaper.

Hi GeckoLikesMartini,

It's my fault for not expressing how new I am at using the TouchOSC Editor. It's daunting for me. Do you have any additional links, website, youtube vids (already watched and bookmarked The Reaper Blog's, Kenny's, Hop Pole's, etc.) or threads that gave you a basic understanding of editing your TouchOSC iPad layout, saving them to use every time? I've been leary of screwing up my working LogicPad TOSC template, in the midst of recording several projects here.

Thanks again for any help,
G

Here's a quick demo of CSI with TouchOSC custom layouts that automatically load when plugins become active:

Thanks Geoff. I'm watching anything I can get my hands on, ie "TouchOSC/TouchOSC Editor", like this for example https://youtu.be/DDnCjqLij9w

The topic of remotely controlling Reaper, plugins etc thrills the heck out of me and drives me nuts at the same time. I'm very new to it all.

Hi georgemickel, sorry, I don't know of good tutorials. I did like you - grabbing all I could find in the web watching youtube and looking at other templates. And it's still a horrible game of trial & error ;-/.

Regards, mj

That's ok mj,

I've been having some fun messing around with TOSC editor. The only button I haven't created yet is reset all tracks to 0db. It's so easy to mess up on the iPad.

Does anyone have any track names coming into the iPad?

Or eq plugin to modify?

Finally, if I load TouchOSC all my settings are not reflective of whats in reaper. Shouldn't it go both ways?

Hi sonicman,

I have no issues having track names coming into my iPad, although I don't use it for anything other than transport from behind my drum set. Have you found a solution for your setup?

Kind regards,
G

Hi George, Nope not yet. I'm a bit bummed out by it as it works really well except for the two items mentioned.

- Track names don't appear in the iPad
- When i open a track in reaper, OSC doesn't update to the settings. Example: If track 1 volume is set to 2 then OSC tacke 1 fader should move from zero to 2.

I get track names but have the same issue you have with fader volume not updating. I'm going to try GeckoLikesMartini's suggestions above.
