Sync iMovie video with Reaper audio
I know this has been discussed a lot, at least sync issues have, but I wondered if there is something simple I can do to help sync up an imported iMovie video with my recorded audio.
I export video as H.264 audio is set to 48k. While I'm recording the video from my iMac webcam I record my guitar in reaper. I used to use Ableton Live 7 and never had sync issues so I'm assuming it's a setup problem of some sort. I really don't want to go back to live as it is a CPU hog.
Any tips?

Record both at the same time with a sync clap. Just render the processed audio from Reaper and import that in to iMovie to render your final video. If you want to record both the video and audio at the same time, that's a good method.

I don't think I explained very well, I do record both at the same time. I export the audio from Reaper and the video from iMovie then import them into final cut. When I use abelton there are no issues but the Reaper audio slowly goes out of sync with the video. In fact within about 30 seconds it has started to shift. It's as though they are recorded at different speeds it's bizarre. Like I said abelton doesn't have this issue so I've reverted to using that until Incan figure out what the problem is.

Wow. I have no idea which one of the recording tools is recording things the wrong way or interpreting a file the wrong way.
I suppose you've already checked what the sample rate of the recordings in Ableton Live were, and what those you produced in Reaper had for a sample rate.
Is iMovie recording sound and influencing the sound hardware ? Can you check anywhere at what clock speed the sound hardware is running while you're recording in Reaper and iMovie at the same time ?
Final Cut Pro may also be interpreting files the wrong way, so it's worth checking how long the audio recording was in Reaper, and how long Final Cut Pro tells you it is.

Interesting, Live was setup to record audio at 44.1khz, I thought video recorded audio at 48khz that could well be the issue!

It was in fact the problem that I had Reaper set to 48khz and iMovie to 44.1khz, all seems fine now I have them both at 48khz
